CURRICULUM: The Corporate Finance concentration is most common for students pursuing investment banking careers. Many courses feature professors who have previously served as executives and professionals at global investment banks. Notable electives include Mergers & Acquisitions (MBA 789) and Investment Banking (MBA 793), an exclusive course offered in Mod IV of first-year that is taught by Training The Street Founder and CEO Scott Rostan.

FINANCIAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (FDP): UNC Kenan-Flagler makes a significant investment in programs that give students the requisite skill-set to lead successful investment banking careers. We are proud to have the largest contract with Training The Street out of any business school in the country. Through the FDP, UNC offers courses in financial modeling, valuation, deal structures, interview prep, and many other topics related to investment banking. These courses are offered at no additional charge and are exclusively for UNC Kenan-Flagler students.

SECOND YEAR CAREER MENTOR: We provide a robust Career Mentor program that pairs each incoming student with a second year classmate. You will have the opportunity to choose from a selective group of second year students that are specifically trained to work closely with you during your career search. Career Mentors help you manage the recruiting process, providing guidance on various banks, networking etiquette, resume and cover letter reviews, interview preparation, and offer evaluation.

CAREER & LEADERSHIP (C&L): C&L serves as a valuable resource for students during the recruiting process. Full-time C&L Coaches work with students individually through the recruitment process to help them develop a personalized plan of action and to prepare them for success in the recruiting process. C&L Coaches are always available for individual counseling and can help you decide which career path best fits your preferences and skills.
